Partnership With St. Mary's Healthcare System for Children

In our first year of operation, we generated $30,000. For our first act of charity, The Michael Mulhall Foundation has donated $21,500 of our 2015 proceeds to patients of St. Mary's Healthcare System for Children. St. Mary's is New York's largest and most experienced provider of long-term care to children with medically complex conditions and New York City's only post-acute care facility for children.

Special Access Ramp Project

Our 2015 funds were put directly towards the remodeling of homes for families in need of special access ramps for their children. Special thanks to our friends at Safeway Lifts for a job well done!

Mary's connected us with 3 families within the New York Metropolitan area in need of our assistance:

  •  A Staten Island family whose 5 year old son requires a wheelchair and is getting ready to attend his first year of school. Currently, he needs to be carried up and down numerous front steps whenever leaving or entering the home.  Additionally, the MMF purchased a custom mobility scooter that was more suitable to the child's needs.

  • A Queens family whose 16 year old currently uses a lower-grade portable ramp situated on a steep incline. As he has grown, it has become difficult and unsafe to push him up the incline and the family will benefit greatly from a new, more structurally sound ramp.

  • A Long Island family with two children who have special needs; currently, the parents must carry each child up and down their front steps whenever leaving or entering their home.

By partnering with St. Mary's, The Michael Mulhall Foundation can ensure that our donor contributions are gifted directly to families in need.
